This 3 days 2 nights Aberdare cultural tour gives you a glimpse of the epic enrichments of the Kikuyu tribe. This package features the central region of Kenya, where this ethnic Bantu group is mostly found. Here, you get to visit the first homeplace of the Agikuyu and even get to explore the Kikuyu Mugumo tree and Mau Mau caves which were hideouts for the Kikuyu freedom fighters.
On the very first day you will be met by Naicef team at the JKIA or the hotel for a quick briefing. From there on you will enjoy an epic up-country drive to the Aberdare region where you will head first for Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga Shrine. The shrine is said to have been the original settlement of the Agikuyu tribe dating back to Gikuyu and Mumbi.
You will be able to learn more about the Gikuyu family and its daughters and how the Kikuyu tribe came to be. You will also get to learn about the Kikuyu culture marriage, Kikuyu culture dress wear, and all of the Kikuyu Mugumo tree.
From there you will then head to your lodge after an introduction to the Kikuyu culture. You will check in as you have your lunch and a moment of relaxation. Later in the evening, you will visit a local Kikuyu village and have a deeper immersion into Kikuyu culture and traditions.
After a moment of interaction with the local people, you will then head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

On the next day after breakfast, you will get to explore the various cultural and historical sites in the park, such as the Mau Mau caves. These caves were used by the Mau Mau rebellion led by the legend Dedan Kimathi who fought against the colonization of the British colonies.
Also, you will get to explore the different plant species, but especially the Kikuyu Mugumo tree that is sacred in the Kikuyu culture and traditions. This tree was normally used by the freedom fighters, in communicating during the struggle for independence period. The outstanding fig tree is also believed to be a tree of Ngai, the Kikuyu God, which serves as a place of worship and sacrifice for the Kikuyu tribe.
Later in the evening, after lunch, you will then head on for yet another village tour within the Aberdare National Park and get to socialize more with the Kikuyu people. You will have a chance to participate in the Kikuyu traditional dances such as the “Mwomboko dance” and even try the food Kikuyu culture has got. Continue learning of the norms, traditions, and fairytales such as the fables and myths about the Kikuyu culture.
You will then drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

The last day after breakfast, you will head for the equator marker Nanyuki, where the equator cuts across. You will get to see an interesting illustration of the magnitude effects at the equator, using a bowl of water. You will also have a chance to buy souvenirs from the local curio shops as you interact with the locals and then from there, you will head directly back to Nairobi.
Upon reaching Nairobi, you will have your lunch at your preferred hotel. From there you will be dropped off at your hotel/CBD/airport having concluded your cultural tour.
