Here is the detailed itinerary for the Kibera tour.
At 9:00 a.m in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel by the team, who will introduce you to your local guide, who was born and raised in the urban slum, Kibera.
From there, you will now head off for your Kibera tour, the biggest slum in Kenya. Just a few minutes later, you will be at your destination, which is not that far from the Nairobi CBD area.
You will then be given a history of Kibera and how it came to be in 1889, when the construction of the Uganda railway began, and the workers found residence in the area.
After the brief overview, you will then head to a local workshop and meet the Victorious Bone Crafts Group. This group usually turns ugly into beauty by recycling trash such as bones collected from butcheries into innovative crafts.
From there, at 10:30 a.m, you will make a stop at a local school and have time to interact and learn about the life of the teachers and the children.
