This 5 days Aberdare Samburu cultural tour package gives you a uniquely kind of mixed cultural immersion of two Kenya’s ethnic communities. The Kikuyu tribe is famously known to be living mostly in the Central region of Kenya near the famous Snow-Capped Mount Kenya, a UNESCO heritage site. Samburu culture on the other hand, is majorly found in the northern frontier of Kenya, north of Mount Kenya.
Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our Naicef team at the airport. After a short briefing you will make a quick drive to Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga Shrine where it is said the Kikuyu culture arose. Get to learn more about the first parents, Gikuyu and Mumbi, and their daughters and meanings.
After learning of the Kikuyu origin, you will then embark on your journey to your booked lodge. You will get to have a moment of relaxation as you have your lunch after checking in.
In the evening, you will now have a chance to visit the local Kikuyu village as you enjoy the welcoming ceremony. Here you will have a chance to talk and interact with the local people as you learn the Kenya Kikuyu culture and traditions.
You will then head back to your lodge in preparation for dinner and overnight.
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner{L &D}
After having breakfast, you will then get to explore the park and all of its cultural significance to the Kikuyu culture. You will come across the sacred Kikuyu Mugumo tree that serves as a worshipping and sacrificing place. Also, you will get to explore the Mau Mau caves which were used as hideouts in the struggle for independence by freedom fighters. The Mau Mau rebellion was a Kikuyu organization that was led by the legendary Dedan Kimathi who fought against British colonization.
You will then head back to your lodge for lunch and then later in the afternoon head for a village cultural experience.
After a while of getting to know more of the Kikuyu tribe traditions, you will proceed back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
