Your Climbing Mount Meru Tanzania adventure begins with a transfer from Arusha town to Arusha National Park, where you’ll register at Momella Gate.
From here, you’ll start trekking with an armed ranger, ensuring both safety and unique wildlife encounters along the way. The trail passes through open grasslands where giraffes, buffalo, and antelopes are often seen grazing.
After about two hours, you’ll reach Maio Falls, a perfect spot to rest and enjoy a picnic lunch. Continuing on, you’ll encounter the famous fig tree arch, a natural wonder where the trail passes directly through the hollow trunk of a giant fig tree.
The hike gradually ascends into lush rainforest, alive with monkeys and birdlife.
By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Miriakamba Hut, where tea and snacks await.

Here, a warm meal is served, and the afternoon is spent resting and preparing for the midnight summit attempt. The atmosphere at Saddle Hut is filled with anticipation, as trekkers gather to rest and mentally prepare for the climb ahead.

From Rhino Point, you continue to Cobra Point, where the views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance are breathtaking. After 4 to 5 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Socialist Peak (4,565m) just as the sun rises, illuminating the crater and ash cone below.
Standing at the summit is a moment of triumph, the highlight of your 4 Days Mount Meru Climb. After celebrating and taking photos, you’ll descend back to Saddle Hut for hot soup and tea.
Following a short rest, the trek continues down to Miriakamba Hut, where you’ll spend the night.
