Here is the detailed program for this best off-road driving experience.
The first day of the 3-Day Rimoi Reserve Self Drive Safari Tour starts at the CBD of Nairobi. You will get a briefing on the scheduled routes to take from your lead guide, and ensure you are all set and ready for the 4 by 4 self-drive safari ahead.
There will be a stopover for refreshments, lunch, and snacks along the way, and the route used will be the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.
A second stopover will be at the Iten viewpoint for the sweeping views across the vast Kerio valley and to see the Rift Valley graben below the escarpment. To the south, you can also view the forested slopes of Kapkut and Kipkanyalit, where rivers descend to the Kerio River.
You will then head over to the Rimoi National Park and check in at the gate of the reserve as you go to the campsite located within the reserve, where camps are set up for accommodation, giving you the ultimate outdoor experience.
An evening game drive can be done while going to the campsite in the reserve, or you can choose to do a nature walk and have an intimate experience with the fauna and flora of the area.
Later, a bonfire will be set up for engagement with each other and stories with banters, then dinner and overnight stay, marking the end of day 1 of the best off-road driving experience.
The second day is all about exploration of the reserve and surrounding areas, including the Cheptariat hill and its surrounding area, known for the beautiful hot springs.
Get to see the Arror Falls of the famous Arror and Kimwarer dams from a distance as you embrace and take in the beauty that is Mother Nature.
Lunch will be taken en route, and later on, the Self-drive Kenya safari will continue to become a game drive within Rimoi National Park. The park does offer the largest elephant herd viewing, along with other animals that include warthogs, zebras, waterbucks, pangolin monkeys, and baboons.
