We will start our journey in Nairobi at 5:00 a.m. for the private Mount Kenya trekking package to ensure we reach the gate before sunrise.
The distance between Nairobi and Mount Kenya National Park is approximately 138 kilometers, which is around 3 1/2 to four hours maximum.
There are three routes to access Mount Kenya National Park, and they include the Naro Moru Route, the Sirimon Route, and the Chogoria Route.
For our Kenya Safari package Mount Kenya, we prefer Sirimon and Naro Moru gates due to their scenic hiking routes and access to the highway.
As soon as we arrive in Nyeri County for the Naru Moru route or Nanyuki, Laikipia County for the Sirimon route, we’ll directly head to the restaurants for some hearty, energizing breakfast to take us through the hike.
The breakfast features a wide selection of dishes served in Central Kenya. This will be a buffet selection to ensure your preference is catered to enough for the exciting Mt Kenya day hike package.
After breakfast, we will proceed to the gate to begin the luxury Mount Kenya day hike package, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
At the gate, a small briefing will be done by our Naicef professional mountain guide & park management to give you a nice introduction to the mountain and set your energy for the day.
Soon after the briefing, we will begin the hike at the park entrance and ascend to over 3,000 feet through the Gallery Forest. This will give you the best fresh forest views, air, and experience with a spectacular view of natural beauty and wild animals.
