The first day of the Naicef 4-Day Mt Elgon National Park package starts from Nairobi to Kitale.
The distance from Nairobi to Kitale takes 7 hours, a long drive.
Stopover at the Chogoria viewpoint. Here, you can see the Rift Valley escarpments, beautiful landscapes, and Mount Longonot.
You could buy beautiful souvenirs from the locals to remember your viewpoint memories.
Have a 45-minute lunch at Nakuru.
From here, continue with the journey to Kitale via the main highway. From Nakuru to Kitale, it takes 4 hours 30 minutes to get to Kitale Town.
Upon arrival, check in at Westside Hotel. Westside Hotel is a serene environment to welcome you after a long hour’s ride.
Have your dinner at the hotel. Relax and overnight stay at the hotel.
The second day of the Naicef 4-Day Mt Elgon National Park package offers you a chance to explore the Mt Elgon National Park.
After breakfast at the Westside Hotel, depart for Mt Elgon National Park. The drive takes an hour to the park.
Upon arrival, check-in at the Chorlim Gate inside the park. Kenya Wildlife Services manages the park.
Drive towards the Major Oyugi nature trail. Here, you will walk for half an hour to the waterfall. Enjoy the beauty of nature as it prepares you for the hikes and trekks ahead.
Return to the cruiser. Our Naicef professional guide will drive you to the Endebess Bluff starting point.
Upon arrival, hike to the Endebess Bluff viewpoint. Mt Elgon National Park trails are somewhat challenging but rewarding at the final destination.
The trail is steep, but with comfortable hiking shoes, you’ll be comfortable hiking up the viewpoint.
The hike is rewarding with views of the vegetation cover, landscapes and summits of the five peaks of Mt. Elgon.
At the viewpoint, have a nice picnic lunch.
After lunch, head back to the cruiser for a 2-hour hike to Mutamaiyo/ Chorlim Camp.
Mt Elgon National Park camping can be cold, so ensure you have warm clothes to keep yourself warm.
Arrive in time for dinner. Freshen up, dine and overnight stay at the camp.
The third day of Naicef 4-Day of Mt Elgon National Park Package starts at early dawn.
After a nutritious and energizing breakfast, start your day at the Mutamaiyo camp.
The trek from Mutamaiyo camp to Road End takes 5 hours.
Upon arrival, refresh inside your tents as you await refreshments from the cooks who always walk ahead of you.
Spend the afternoon relaxing as you get familiar with and reflect on the Mt Elgon experience you just had.
Enjoy a bonfire dinner at the Road End Camp.
Enjoy bonfire games, if you’re a group or enjoy the silence of the night with the bonfire if you’re solo.
The fourth day of Naicef 4-Day of Mt Elgon National Park Package starts at early dawn.
You will be served with a nourishing and nutritious breakfast to kick start your day.
The early sunrise will find you on foot as you get to the Koitobos summit.
There will be a steep walk at about 4,000m for about 220m to the top.
It takes about 3 hours to hike to the Koitobos summit, which is 4 km from Road End.
After getting to the top, take pictures, and experience the beauty of the Koitobos summit.
Descend to Road End Camp and arrive in time for lunch. Relax and recharge for the lunch break.
From here, descend further to Mutamaiyo Camp. At Mutamaiyo Camp, you will be served with nutritious refreshments.
Return to the main gate to exit the park, Chorlim Gate.
Head to the West Side Hotel for your dinner and overnight stay.
Our last day of the Naicef Mt Elgon National Park trails.
Check out of the hotel.
