Now, let’s get into the detailed 3 days Mara Amboseli Hot Air Balloon safari itinerary.
3 Days Mara Amboseli Hot Air Balloon Safari
Day 1 – Masai Mara Safari
On the first day, you will depart from Nairobi for Masai Mara National Reserve, which is around 230 km from Nairobi, making it a 4 to 5-hour drive. On the way, you will come across the Great Rift Valley viewpoint and make a quick stopover for a photo session.
You will also meander along the escarpment as you enjoy the amazing views on the way and then pass by the Italian Chapel, which is Kenya’s smallest church built in 1942. You will make a quick stopover at Narok town for those in need of using the washroom and then head straight for your lodge.
On entering Masai Mara National Reserve, you will have an en-route game drive as you will be transferred to your lodge, Sarova Mara Game Camp, for lunch. You will then later, after enjoying your deliciously prepared meal, have a moment of siesta and then head on for your evening game drive.
Get to spot different wild species, especially the Big Five members and the Mighty Wildebeests as they migrate through the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, making it a Wonder of the World. The park boasts different wild species such as Big Cats (Lion, Leopard, & Cheetah), Antelopes, Crocodiles, Giraffes, and Wild Dogs and harbors over 400 different bird species.
After exploring the fascinating wild world, you will then head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 – Hot Air Balloon Safari Masai Mara and Amboseli Safari
Very early the next morning, you will depart from your lodge and head for your balloon safari. You will find as the balloons are being set up, and then once you settle inside the basket, the balloon will be pumped, and it will rise up in the air.
The views up there are very stunning and unforgettable as you spot different wild animals such as the mighty Wildebeests, Antelopes, and Big Five members, among others. Also, you will have a bird’s eye view of the bird’s nest on tree tops and see where these species find shelter.
After the amazing hour or so ride, you will then come to land, and after a successful landing, you will celebrate with a bottle of champagne. From there you will then head back to your lodge for breakfast as you check out of your lodge.
After checking out, you will then head directly to Nairobi for your lunch. You will head south after lunch for Amboseli National Park for yet another hot air balloon experience.
You will arrive in the late afternoon as you check into your lodge, where you will spend the rest of the evening to yourself as you relax and refresh in preparation for dinner.
Later, have dinner and overnight at AA Amboseli.

Day 3 – Amboseli Hot Air Balloon Ride
On the very last day, you will now venture into your Amboseli balloon safari and enjoy a ride high above the vast plains of the park. Experience a completely different hot air balloon tour from the one in Masai Mara and be amazed by the stunning clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro found in Tanzania.
After the morning balloon ride, you will then head back to your lodge for a proper breakfast as you check out. You will have a last game drive as you head out of Amboseli National Park and proceed back to Nairobi.
Upon your arrival, you will be transferred to your preferred hotel/CBD/airport. Thereafter, you will say your farewells and goodbye after having enjoyed a 3-day Amboseli & Masai Mara safari.
